St. Mary Magdalen Meals
First and fourth Sunday of every month, 3pm-5pm. Members of BCC volunteer with others from around Berkeley to help cook, setup, serve free meals and clean up at St.Mary's
Picnic in the Park
Two to three times a year we throw an open neighborhood BBQ in King School Park with free food and a giant inflatable playhouse for the kids. Come join us and get to know your neighbors!
Fiat Lux
College-based non-denominational group focused on developing great friendships, a passion for learning, a sense of adventure, and a thirst for new experiences. Members sponsor university lectures, provocative intellectual discussion, outdoor sports, community service, and cultural activities.
New College Berkeley
Founded in 1977 by lay Christians, pastors, and scholars, New College is committed to providing high-caliber interdisciplinary studies for the laity. Its purpose is to bring God's presence into the public world of work, politics, civic life, academic disciplines, and commerce, as well as into the private spaces of personal discipleship, family and friendship.
Harbor House
An Oakland program that has assisted over 50,000 people and includes a formalized tutoring program, after-school programs, ESL classes, emergency food and clothing distribution, business development projects, and spiritual mentoring for a diverse population of low-income, under-privileged persons.
New Hope Covenant Church
Established in 1996 from the ministry at Harbor House, this sister church focuses its outreach in an area of Oakland where 40% of the population is foreign-born, and 25% live below the poverty line.
Little Sprouts Preschool
"Sprouting" from the ministry of our own Mustard Seed Preschool and New Hope Covenant Church, this school strives to meet the needs of children whose families live below the poverty level. Their goal is to develop the whole child – physically, mentally, socio-emotionally, and spiritually through age appropriate play-based activities.
First Resort
Provides medical care and counseling to help women make fully-informed decisions about unintended pregnancies. The clinic also facilitates healing for women and their partners who struggle with post-abortion grief.
