  Cell Groups

Cell ministry is not anything tricky or a special formula. What makes cell ministry great is the same things that make every other group great: God's spirit among us, a love for one another, discipleship and sharing, a sense of mission, bearing fruit, having every person of a group use their spiritual gifts, etc. These are biblical principles that God has been speaking since the beginning. So what is cell ministry? It is a method of organization that hopefully leads to every member of the body of Christ using their spiritual gifts to serve others. Biologically speaking, a cell is "capable of acting alone or interacting with other cells to performing all the fundamental functions of life, and forming the smallest structural unit of living matter capable of functioning independently." What this definition didn't mention is that a cell is also capable of reproducing itself over and over again and in doing so, growing the body with healthy full functioning cells. A cell based Home Group is the smallest unit of a church, capable of working alone or with others, while carrying on all the functions of Christian life, and desiring to multiple out healthy cells to grow the church. Every member the group is expected to both be ministered to, and to minister to others…to be discipled, so that they may disciple others. There is a strong focus on growth and leadership development, while also understanding the need for care.
